RocketJ Posted August 18, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2005 Cozumel DOES observe Daylight Savings Time. I believe all ship's times are quoted in the time zone of the port they leave from and don't change even if you cross times zones. HTH
CozSally Posted August 18, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2005 Cozumel definitely changes clocks twice a year and we are on central time. In general, Carnival ships stay on the time of their departing port, although I do know the Valor was changing to match port time. Several other ships from other crusielines also change their clocks to match port time. As far as I know the Victory remains on Eastern time when sailing from an east coast port. The best way to get an accurate answer to this is to post it on the Carnival board. Hopefully someone who just took "your" cruise can tell you what time they were on. kchesneylover Posted September 11, 2005 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2005 I am doing the 3 reef snorkel only with Zorro Catamaran in Cozumel - 11 am Cozumel Time - We get there at 11:00 on the Carnival Valor - Here is my question: What time is it Ship Time when we arrive in Cozumel at 11:00AM Cozumel Time. Thank you.
CozSally Posted September 12, 2005 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2005 Last month when I had clients from the Valor, the ship time matched Cozumel time, so 11am Cozumel would be 11am ship time. It was the first two times I had ever heard of a Carnival ship changing their clocks to match port time and may have been the preference of that particular captain. Again, post this on the Carnival board and ONLY pay attention to responses from people who have been on your itinerary on the Valor recently. That's the best you can do and it's still not guaranteed to be the same on your cruise. Sorry I can't help you more. Even if there's an hour difference (that's the most it would be) by the time you get off the ship and get to wherever you meet the catamaran tour, you are cutting it pretty close. If the ship arrives a half hour late...
