big_duck Posted August 18, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2005  I've seen it mentioned in several forums and am wondering about it? What's the deal with all those RCI ships ending in "of the seas"? Where else would you put a cruise ship. :D
Bunkie103 Posted August 18, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2005 On the Triumph two years ago, John Heald had a routine about it.....the next few ships were to be the Constipation, the Stimulation....and a few others ending in "ation". It was quite funny!
DEL67 Posted August 18, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2005 Generally cruise lines build multiple ships from one design. These ships may vary in decor, but have the same basic design. In the past, they sometimes had similar names such as the 'ation" ships.

travel girl23 Posted August 18, 2005 #9 Share Posted August 18, 2005 Carnival calls them the "Fantasy Class" ships. All have nearly the same floor plan but the decor is different. The Paradise is included in the Fantasy Class ships. Seems like there's another one, too, but I can't remember.

LolaSCK Posted August 18, 2005 Author #12 Share Posted August 18, 2005 No - I've seen where it's implied that if a ship ends in "ation" it's a big party ship or something. Or am I totally off base?

LOL Sorry we missed your meaning. The Older Carnival ships most whose name ends in "tion" do the shorter three and four day runs, which tend to have more of a party atmosphere then then longer cruises. It is not the ships themselved but the itinerary. We did a 5 day Imagination cruise last year in the middle of March and it wasn't crazy at all.
