RDMOREU Posted August 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2005 Has anyone been to this store? How expensive are the feathers? Any info would be appreciated.
Carey on Cozumel Posted August 19, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2005 Afraid I don't know the costs but I know the work is beautiful and done by a family. They have a kiosk right behind the big yellow and white clock tower in the downtown central plaza. And to get to their store, stand at the clock tower with your back to the ocean. Turn left 90 degrees. Walk a block straight down the pedestrian only plaza until you almost hit a street with cars. The store is second in from this intersection on your left. ScubaMare Posted August 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2005 I think the prices start at $25 for the mid-size feathers. They have teeny-tiny pigeon feathers that have been painted on and they're more as are the large feathers. The artwork is framed. The work is beautiful! We have two and will likely get another the next time we're there. Prices are negotiable if you buy more than one piece.
RDMOREU Posted August 19, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted August 19, 2005 Thank you both for the great information. Carey on Cozumel, you gave great directions and ScubaMare, I wondered if they were framed or had something on the back so that you could hang them on a wall - well, you answered that! Do either of you have any idea what hours this store would be open. We'll be in Cozumel on Friday, Dec. 16, from 11 am to 9 pm.(HAL's Westerdam). However, we'll be doing a ship's tour to Tulum that leaves at ll:30 am and lasts 7-8 hrs., therefore getting back 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. There won't be alot of time to get to the store. I really don't know if we tender in or 'park' (sorry ... lol ... not too nautical!!). Wherever, we get onto land, is the store near that point? Thanks for the information!
