Rare conandrob240 Posted October 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2014 If we taxi to cabbage beach and want to walk through Atlantis to the shops and casino, is that still allowed? We walked from public access point to Atlantis shops, lobby, casino years ago but recent posts suggest this is no longer allowed?

You are allowed to go to the casino and the shoppes in the old towers, but you are no longer allowed to wander the lobbies, check out the views or view the aquarium window at the great wall of water. So basically the older towers are still accessible, but the royal tower (main tower) is not, with the exception of the casino. (no kids allowed). Rare conandrob240 Posted October 31, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted October 31, 2014 Where will I be "greeted" by security if I am coming from the beach? Last time, there was no one stopping people from walking the grounds from the beach. They did check wrist bands before allowing on rides and in pools but I could walk through gardens, pool area and into shops. Still the case? We want to just see a little bit of it. Two people will stay at the casino. Rest will head back. We also previously used Atlantis shops area to go out a get a taxi back. Just seeing if I can still do this. You can no longer access the property from the beach. Security and life guards check wristbands. Atlantis is not open to the public. You can't walk thru the gardens or past the pools etc. You can enter thru the old towers, and access that shoppes in the Coral towers, but you'll be stopped going any further, unless your heading to the casino. tikib Posted October 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) Is this new? How do I access the old tower shops then coming from the beach? This has been in affect for a couple of years, but security tightened this past season. If the beach tower is open (it's closed now for renovation), you can access it from the roadway near the RIU Coral Tower can be accessed by Marina Village. Security should be there as well, but just tell them you are going to the casino and they will show you the way. Atlantis is all about making $$$, there's not much you can do there without spending money. Casino or shopping, that's it. Rare conandrob240 Posted October 31, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted October 31, 2014 I wanted to show my dad and nephew the hotel, shops, casino. Don't know why they'd make it so hard to get to the shops and spend $ at their shops, restaurants, bars, etc. seems silly.

Don't know why they'd make it so hard to get to the shops and spend $ at their shops, restaurants, bars, etc. seems silly. I hear you, but they don't want outsiders milling around for free. Like I said, casino and shoppes in the Coral towers are open to the public. Restaurants and bars are open in the evenings. Those open to the public for lunch are generally in the marina village. Eateries and bars on the outside property, near the pools and gardens are NOT open to the public. You'll need a pass to get near them during the day, and they are closed at night. Rare conandrob240 Posted October 31, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted October 31, 2014 I can't wait until Bahia Mar knocks Atlantis on their butts and right off their self-proclaimed pedestal! They have thought way too highly of themselves for way too long! LOL

nkereina Posted December 8, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 8, 2014 Sorry to revive an old thread, but would these same restrictions be true to anyone who has paid for a day pass? We're considering purchasing the water park pass through Carnival. Are we facing these kinds of restrictions or will that pass make us just as free as a guest who's staying there? Any differences with the day pass you can purchase directly at Atlantis? thanks all!
buttrfly78 Posted December 11, 2014 #12 Share Posted December 11, 2014 How well do they check the children's ages? I accidentally purchased a child ticket for my nephew forgetting that he turned 13 before the cruise.

Since you'll need ID and your sea and sail card to reboard, they will expect you to have that with you.
buttrfly78 Posted December 11, 2014 #14 Share Posted December 11, 2014 Thanks Bubba. The kids don't have id's but they will have the cruise card. I don't remember an age being noted on the card though.
