Quick Shuttle from Seattle to Vancouver

Hi,

We have booked our flight for our Alaskan cruise for July 2006 and it was better financially for us to go into Seattle over Vancouver where the Coral leaves from.

Has anyone taken the Quick Shuttle from SEA TAC to downtown Vancouver? Is this the best way to go? We are arriving in Seattle the evening and will stay over at hotel at airport and want to get to Vancouver as soon as possible the next morning.

Thanks for any input,

Cathy

Hi Cathy,

We took the Quick Shuttle from Vancouver to Seattle. It was about a third of the price of flying and took us about 3 and a half hours to go to downtown Seattle (so it would take longer to go to the airport). This time included a stop at the border where they had to take off all the luggage and have a dog sniff around it, and have the passengers go through customer (very easy). It took the poor driver longer to re-load the luggage and he wouldn't let anyone help.

It was just as comfortable as an airplane. No drinks or snacks, but also no takeoff and landing, which I thought was a fair trade-off.

Hope this helps.

Claire

You probably already have the Quick Shuttle website, but if not, here it is:

And here is their schedule:

Looks like from Sea Tac to Vancouver airport is 4 hours; to Vancouver hotels is 5 hours.

Also, there IS a bathroom on board (several people asked but the ticket seller didn't know).

AMTRAK Cascades departs Seattle @ 7 AM and arrives in Vancouver about 11:30. You can have breakfast on the train and customs is easier than quick shuttle. The scenery is better also as it winds around the coast and they will actually slow the train if there are eagle sightings. The price for business class is worth it and it is competitive with the bus. Additionally there is a movie if you really get bored with the scenery.

Enjoy the trip!
