What to eat/drink

We will be arriving at this port in less than 2 weeks on the Carnival Valor southern Caribbean cruise.

I've searched Google and the board but have not found much in terms of what sort of local cuisine to eat or any sort of beverages to consume.

Looking for any sort of help.

I enjoyed reading review before my trip and decided I needed to try a malloca for breakfast from Cafe Mallorca and Mofongo for lunch or dinner from almost anywhere. Both were delicious!

Monfongo is meat or seafood with sauce in a plantain cup.

Mallorca is a pressed breakfast sandwich with ham and cheese (or other options) and powdered sugar . My picture is bad of this but look cafe mallorca up there are lots of better pictures.

monfongo is the popular thing. but be sure to try the pina coloda, and rum.

 

The pina coloda was founded in san juan.

 

also try the arroz con gandules, which is rice and pigeon pees. amazing!

 

its hard to find, but lechon is another amazing dish. its pork, and amazing

 

Alcapurrias is another favorite too.
