flyboy3 Posted November 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2014 We are doing a b2b on Emerald Princess and wondered if there is a store to purchase wine close to the terminal. Close enough that a cab ride would make it worth the cost of buying our 2 bottles for the second cruise.
Rudyard Posted November 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2014 The towns of La Porte and Seabrook are both less than five minutes away from the port. Plenty of supermarkets and liquor stores.

It may not be worth the time for you to do that. We had to stand outside in the cold light rain last Tuesday for an hour to go through the port's security when we arrived at 1:00 pm. This was after waiting 30 minutes in traffic to get dropped off. It then took another hour to get checked in for our trip once we were indoors. My suggestion is to not do it or bring on extra bottles for your first leg. We met a few couples that brought on extra bottles and were not charged. Disembarkation was another story due to the delay in returning due to fog. Needless to say, this was our first and last sailing from this port. Enjoy the ship! We loved it! If you're on the 7-day cruise leaving Sunday remember you cannot purchase alcohol before noon on Sunday in Texas. Yes, there's a supermarket (Krogers) very close by that sells alcohol just up the 146 Highway @ Fairmont.
