Transportation to/from Cape Liberty

We are sailing on Celebrity Summit from Cape Liberty next year and will require taxi from our hotel Marriot at Newark airport to the port to join our ship.

We will require a taxi from Cape Liberty to our hotel on Times Square on our return and then taxi back to Newark airport at the end of our holiday.

Can anyone suggest transfer companies and if it is better to pre-book. Also any idea on cost. And is there a shopping mall near to the Marriot ?

Many thanks

Are you staying at the main Marriott hotel in the center of the airport?

To get to Cape Liberty you should book a car serviice like Dial7 or Carmellimo. I believe that the main Marriott uses Signature Transportation. $55-60

To get from Cape Liberty to Times SquAre, you can also book a car service or just get off the ship and go to the taxi dispatcher who will arrange private or shared transportation for you. If you don't have a US cell phone, that could be the easiest solution. About $90-100 including tolls and tip.

To get back to Newark Airport from NYC I'd book a car service like Dial7 or Carmellimo.

Thanks for your reply Carol. We are staying at the Marriot which apparently is very close to the arrivals hall. Perhaps you can clarify for me the problem with us not having a US cell phone - I do have a mobile phone which has international roaming. Apologies if this is a really dumb question. Many thanks for your help.

If you book a car service from Cape Liberty to NYC, they will usually ask for a cell phone number or give you the cell phone number of your driver so you can communicate about the exact pickup location and any changes in time. The car services charge for wait time, so if you book for 10 am and don't disembark until 11 am, you will be hit for extra charges. That's why it might be a lot easier to just go to the livery dispatcher at the port when you get off the ship.

This is much less of a problem if you are leaving from a hotel where you have phone service available and can be ready at an exact time.
