CASkippr Posted May 21, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2004 Does Celebrity offer in-cabin babysitting? If so, can anyone share their experiences. Thanks Leah Summer Holiday 2004 Spain, Portugal and Morocco
Guest Posted May 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2004 We used in-cabin babysitting extensively on our first three Celebrity cruises with a great deal of satisfaction when our kids were anywhere from 7 mo old to 7 yrs old. It cost $8/hr and you arrange for it by contacting Cabin Services. If you call early enough, you can usually get the same sitter each time which is great if you are happy with her. The babysitters are women crew who are off duty. They are typically drawn from the housekeeping staff although we have had a women from Guest Relations as well. On our first cruise aboard the Century we were unable to land a sitter and so we ended up working out a deal with one of the women in the spa (they are not on the official babysitting list). We have not had a problem since then although it is tough to get a sitter for the first night because the crew is still working hard getting the ship turned around. In short, we have been satisfied and I would highly recommend that you budget adequately for taking advantage of this service. Of course if your child is old enough to enroll in the kids program, that is an even better alternative.
