TMcGovey Posted December 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Hello, my gf and I will be traveling to PR for a Royal Caribbean cruise Feb 8th-15th. We plan to spend 3 nights feb 5th-8th pre cruise. I have shopped around a lot on hotwire, priceline, booking.com ect but am stumped on a exact choice. I must admit I am a some what of a gambler so I like the idea of a hotel with a casino but know there are plenty within the area so not a necessity. We have never been to PR or the Caribbean for that matter. Which hotels would people recommend in the $200/night range before resort fees? I imagine we would be walking/cabbing it throughout the 3 days, I just don't know the area like I said and would appreciate any educated info, pros/cons referring to condado vs. isle verde vs. OSJ. Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
IslandBound79 Posted December 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2014 You should check out AirBnb there are so many great properties listed there!
monicajay Posted December 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2014 You should check out AirBnb there are so many great properties listed there! Since you are there for 3 nights this might be a be a good choice. You will spend way less than a hotel. We have stayed in both the Condado and Isla Verde sections and we much prefer the Condado for the choice of bars and restaurants in walking distance. It is also much closer to OSJ if you want to visit the old part. Oh, and there are buses for .75 cents into OSJ so no need to cab. In March I managed to get the Hilton Condado Plaza for about $170 including prepaid fees (still had to pay resort fee) on Hotwire. This time I knowingly chose the Express deal on Priceline and got the Raddisson Ambassador for $130 including fees (poor reviews but we arrive at midnight and cruise the next day).
