Tampa:Priceline or something else? 11/19/05 4 rooms

(Sorry in advance for those who have already read some of this on another post...:o )

 

I have to be careful... I'm booking for DHs family as well as my own. If it was just me and mine, we could deal (and have) with a lesser quality for one night, but I don't think I want to subject DHs family with something overpriced and below standards :rolleyes: I may just never hear the end of it...jk

 

Tried priceline yesterday (for 1 night, Friday 11/19/05) for the airport area

4* up to $80 w/ rebids, rejected...

3* up to $57 w/ rebids, rejected.

 

This is the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving... should I be starting bids higher?

 

Am not dead set on Priceline. Just looking for a clean hotel for a reasonable price to spend one night in before our family cruise. We won't have time to use a kitchenette. Shuttle service would be nice. Would like to spend less than $100per room including taxes.

 

We won't be arriving until 9 something pm, so I'm thinking airport area is best... plus I'm leary of what priceline offers for downtown area, and not sure I can afford outside of Priceline downtown for better quality

 

Opinions and suggestions are appreciated.
