Internet access and gluten free question

A couple more questions about the Caribbean cruise on Brilliance leaving tomorrow. I know there are internet packages to purchase, but will I be able to access internet through my smart phone data and will I be able to text. Also, are there any gluten free options available in the MDR.

You will be able to use your regular phone services (text/call/data) however don't expect it to be reliable, especially for data, plus the cost may be extremely expensive as it will be charged at international rates.

I can only speak to the cellphone data part of your question -you will have to check with your cell provider for global data capabilities on your phone and for their global rates. we are leaving a week from Saturday on the Oasis and I spoke at lenth with verizon (our provider) the other day. All of our phones are able to send and recieve while on the ship (we have mostly iphones 5 or above) but the data rates are astronomical if you don't buy a package ahead of time - even then it is quite expensive. The rates for calls and texts are also high - I believe on the ship calls were $2.49 per minute and texts were .50 to send and .05 to recieve.

Not familiar with RCCL policies but on two others cruiselines we let Maitre D (never tried to spell this before) and our waiters know. Typically we would see the menu for the next day and the waiter would let us know which entrees and appetizers could be done gluten free.

next time about 3 months prior make customer service aware and so there would be breads and pastas available on ship. But you should not have issues.

Re: Gluten

You need to notify RCCL's Special Needs Dept. prior to your cruise regarding and dietary needs.

Well, I guess I'm a bit late on the notification part as we leave tomorrow! As long as there's meat, vegetables and fruit I should be fine. I'm not highly sensitive to gluten, just avoid it because of health issues, so if I do come in contact with any I should be o.k.

Thats the same with us and there should be lots of choices, But letting your waiter know they probably can alter their preparation of sauces, etc and there could be more choices available to you.

You should have no problem with gluten free.....I was treated like a rock star on my last RC cruise! The MDR staff was excellent, and I was very skittish.....I am Celiac, so I was very afraid of getting sick, and everything was AMAZING! The GF pizza at Sorrentos was great....I didn't eat at the buffet. The MDR staff will go over the menu for the following night with you to see what you would like.....you should be fine! Enjoy!!!
