mbisson Posted August 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2005 When I tried to use an upgrade certificate that Latitudes sent me, I found out that "leadership" fares are high enough that I didn't want to use the certificate. (but I still don't know just what they are) LOL -Monte
SeattleCruiselover Posted August 24, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2005 Leadership fares are just one category of discount that NCL uses to calculate pax fares. They also have resident specific (for particular states/countries), senior, Latitudes, et cetera. Leadership is lower than rack/brochure rate, but not the lowest that they offer. Moonhead15 Posted August 24, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2005 When I booked the Dawn trying to use coupon I was told by travel agent that those fairs are higher than the rate I received without a coupon. I think it's nothing but a come-on.
Lvteks Posted August 24, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2005 A while ago a TA told me the NCL coupons amounted to a way of advertising. The "Leadership Fares" are usually more than a good agent can arrange. Someone on a board wrote " if you got to use a coupon you are still paying too much!" I agree. Welove2cruise2 Posted August 25, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2005 No idea what a leadership fare is, but that's what we paid for our upcoming Dawn cruise (and got to use the $200 entertainment coupon) -- I still think we got a great fare on this cruise -- we're paying $100 less than we did last year. Maybe we paid too much LAST year??
