We sailed on the Norwegian Jade, on a 10Night Cruise out of Civitavecchia (Rome), to ports in Greece (Katakolon for Olympia, Piraeus for Athens), Kusadasi for Ephesus, Istanbul overnight, Naples and back to Rome). This sailing was early December 2014.

This is a rather long compilation of the food we enjoyed in the Main Dining Room, largely in the Grand Pacific Dining Room, but also a couple of times at Alizhar Restaurant. Both are complimentary restaurants on NCL Jade and their menus change every evening. We were told that NCL Jade just got new menus a couple of months back!

This was our first time on the NCL Jade and first time trying out the Freestyle Dining concept, after many cruises on other lines like Royal Caribbean. We loved Freestyle Dining!

We had heard many things about NCL Main Dining, and most of what we had heard was not good. Therefore, we went into this cruise with rather low expectations. We turned out to be pleasantly surprised. I think the Main Dining food on the Jade was very comparable to Royal.

Many thanks to my family members who put up with my video taping antics. All of them had to wait for me to finish recording the video clips before they could tuck in.

Before I continue, I would like to give all thanks and praise to our good Lord Jesus, for a wonderful year, which included exciting holidays like this cruise. Indeed, one ought to be thankful for all the blessings, big and small. It was a great privilege to have such good food and service on the NCL Jade. Blessed Christmas to one and all.

Now, back to the review.

We dined at the Main Dining on NCL Jade 7-8 times and had the chance to try many menus. We tended to eat early, around 6pm. The restaurants were not busy then. Peak period is around 7pm, but even then, it didn't feel overwhelmingly crowded.

Take note that the video is available in HD. If you are watching, I encourage you to watch in HD as the video is rather dim. If you turn HD on (using the cog wheel on the bottom right of the video screen), you should be able to see the dishes fairly clearly.

Thanks for watching!

There were no names given for each menu, ...

Yes there are, you need to lift the bottom of the menu a little bit from the holder if the menu identifier doesn't show in the bottom. :)

Edit: The identifier is something like "fleet italian" (for Italian restaurant) or "fleet aft mdr dinner [number]" (for aft MDR) etc. There is also a last updated date (version) in mm/yy format.
