Ports for bear viewing excursions besides Ketchikan?

We are trying to decide between Celebrity Summit and Island Princess for a one way cruise in late August. Summit has one more port than Island (it stops at Icy Strait, while Island just cruises College Fjords). But Summit does not stop in Ketchikan where it seems there are great bear excursions. I really want to see bears! Thanks for your help.

You can see bears in Hoonah (Icy Strait Point).

Anan (sp?) Creek from Juneau came up when I did research for my independat tours. I think you need to research and look at whats available in your ports outside of what the ship offers, I found a lot more to do than was offered on the ship
