Cable beach

We were in Nassau on New Years Eve and jumped on the #10 bus which is located just past the Hilton. Only cost $1.25 to get up to Cable Beach. Driver dropped us off near the Melia resort. If you walk just to the left of the resort, their is a Thai restuarant with a road that leads down to the free beach. The beach is not crowded and is shared with a time share community. We had offers to use wave runners, go on fishing trips, parasail, or take a boat over to discovery island. It was a great place to get away from the crowds and the beach was nice. We stayed about 3 hours then walked back up to the street and the same bus driver saw us an quickly picked us up to go back to port. We headed back to port and stopped in Senor Frogs. Staff was very friendly and bar was a ton of fun. Definitely over priced, but well worth it. We made the mistake of stopping in at Sharkeez for a beer before getting back on ship. We wanted to get a table outside overlooking the street and waited 10 minutes for a hostess to seat us. Then when we said we were only there to drink, we were told we had to get up and get our drinks at the bar. They had a sign out front offering a daily special of 2 Sands drafts for $6. We ordered them, and were handed bottles and told the price was $14. We said we asked for drafts, and the response was they had sold out. Definitely felt like a bait and switch. Management would not honor the special and refused to even talk with us, so we walked out. All of the workers there just seemed miserable. Totally different from Senor Frogs where there you felt like family.
