jopat Posted January 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Does anyone who has stayed in cabin 6160 got ant photos? Thinking of changing from 6570. Thanks
Ken at the beach Posted January 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2015 6160 should be one of the least obstructed views that there is. Certainly a clear view looking forward and straight out with only a slight obstruction looking aft. I had this cabin booked for next Christmas until I decided to book 2 cabins instead of 4 of us in the quad.

HiCSailor Posted January 4, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2015 You may save some money, but you are trading your view if you trade 6150 for 6570. 6570 is an obstructed view balcony (DO) whereas 6150 is a superioor (D8) and has no obstruction. I didn't post pictures, but you can find my review of 6566 here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=45095696#post45095696 Hope this helps... HiCSailor Posted January 5, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 5, 2015 It's 6160 not 6150 Jo Sent from my iPad using Forums Oops, that changes everything. I did some detective work and probably came up with as many questions as answers, but hopefully this helps give you the info you need without confusing things too much. Bottom line, I still think 6160 is a better stateroom than 6570, based on the view. While I didn't find any (verifiable) pictures of 6160, it is mentioned frequently in the Quantum threads as the most desirable of the DO category. 6570 sits in the valley between two hump sections; so in addition to no view down, there's no fore or aft view either. The deckplan should illustrate what I'm talking about: http://www.cruisecritic.com/quantum-of-the-seas-deck-plans/dp/?shipID=705&deck=6 Silentbob007 had 6570 and has some pictures of cabin and view starting at # 24: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2135142&highlight=obstructed&page=2 Now for the potentially confusing part, I found pictures that say they were taken in 6160, but the view doesn't make sense and I believe they were taken in 6164, either that or the deckplan doesn't match up with the onboard stateroom numbering. This thread that says it has pictures of 6160 shows a very significant obstruction: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2129498&highlight=lifeboat See post # 9, but something doesn't add up between the photos and the deck plan... Matching up cabin to deck plan should make 6160 the balcony just forward of the white pillar in post # 34: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2018842&highlight=lifeboat&page=2 In the same thread, post # 38 says 6160 has 50% obstruction, as does 6570 per post # 24 so both cabins are the best sort of DO. (Royal's UK site lets you see additional stateroom info, but you have to find a sailing with the room available for sale) OK, enough sleuthing for one night. I hope this helped rather than hindered...

jeffmylene Posted February 15, 2015 #19 Share Posted February 15, 2015 I don't have any pics but friends of ours stayed in this room. Obstruction is minimal with just a davit to the far left of the balcony. When you walk in to the cabin you can see ocean view through your balcony glass. One of the best DO category rooms, IMO. JosieRhodes Posted June 17, 2015 #22 Share Posted June 17, 2015 Thanks for posting pics. Did the cabin seem quiet enough, looks like over photo area? Also curious if used pull out sods, how big compar e to bed, how comfortable? Have this on hold and trying to decide whether to go ahead and put deposit down Thanks
Glad Trimble Posted June 19, 2015 #23 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Hi, room was quiet, & there was a sofabed in the room which appeared to be the size of a double bed (we only had 1 person in it, so can't really say how easily it accommodated 2 people) When the sofabed is pulled out, there is only about 4 inches between that & the vanity area, which is very much a squeeze, however, this wouldn't be specific to this room- this is normal for that category. The rooms are just narrow. For an obstructed room I think it's great as you don't really notice any obstruction.

Hi Glad Trimble Just wondered what layout the cabin had i.e. sofa bed next to balcony or bed next to balcony ? we're in 12160 in September and assume the way these ships work the cabins alternate this layout along each deck but all cabins directly above each other will probably have the same cabin layout. Yes, I was just going to go with inside cabin for five day trip to Bermuda next year, but DOs were actually cheaper. My parents got the first non obstructed cabin next door. Thanks again.
