larkie25 Posted January 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Headed to the Bahamas this weekend for a mother/daughter trip. Looking for budget ideas of what to do while we are in port. We are in Cococay and Nassau 8-5 Saturday and Sunday. What kinds of things can we do for free/cheap while we are there? Also considering heading back to the ship while we are in Nassau for lunch. I'm expecting that the water will be chilly so I may not want to swim but I'm sure my daughter would enjoy doing that while we are in Cococay at least. Help!? Marsidote Posted January 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2015 I cruise with my 9 yr old daughter last Jan to Nassau. The water was chilly, but she enjoyed it. She did get 'stung' a lot and was pretty itchy after being in the water. Jellyfish perhaps? We walked to Junkanoo beach. It's a free beach not far from the pier. We spent a few hours there. There's cheap food and drinks. There were people selling things and they were kind of pushy. After we left there, we walked back and had lunch at Senor Frogs. Pricey, but a really good time. I am cruising with her again next month. This time we opted for an excursion in Nassau. Think we will just do the beach and the $20 water park in Little Stirrup Cay. Cruise, J.D. Posted January 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2015 We took our 7 year old to the Pirate Museum in Nassau. It was a short walk from the pier and not too pricey.
