Carnival Sunshine Room ??

Hi i'm trying to decide & need a little help. I have always been on deck 7 but never been on a larger ship. We booked deck 6 on the sunshine for may. I was looking at the deck plans and realized the casino & arcade are right under us. Will we hear a lot of noise from this at all hours? Anyone have any experience with deck 9? We are trying to do adjoining rooms with our kids. Was thinking about just giving up on that idea booking 2 separate rooms on deck 7 & calling it good. That way I know there isn't any noises that will keep them up. Just looking for some advice please. Thanks

What rooms do you currently have booked on deck 6? We booked the sunshine and went with our typical deck 7 after reading noise complaints. Although it really does seem to vary with where you are located on deck 6. I do believe there are quiet spots on deck 6.

If you have the ability to move to deck 7 and want to, I would say go for it, I'm sure it would be much more quiet!

6199 & 6201.. My carnival lady said there are adjoining rooms on deck 9 9133 & 9131. Or she has 2 normal rooms on deck 7. I was just thinking adjoining rooms with a 6 & 8yr might be easier.

I totally understand wanting to do the adjoining cabins. Especially with young ones. Honestly I looked up those rooms you were talking about and if it were me, considering the adjoining cabins were a make or break thing for me. I would go with the ones on deck 9. Look at what's below you on deck 5. It looks to me like you are right above the central walk way of the promenade right outside the casino and leading to the Atrium elevators. That is a high traffic area, likely to be loud, and likely to be loud long into the night. With young children that's something that could keep them up into the night. I wouldn't chance it.

If you look at deck 9, below you on deck 8, theres a grey area, but I would assume that's a service area, but not likely to be near as loud as what is on deck 5. Also more cabins on deck 8. Above you on deck 10, you have the theater, but others will have to chime in on how loud it is. I wouldn't think you would get as much noise from the big screen. Although, I have heard of people hearing deck chairs moving at night.

Honestly, if it were my decision to make, I would choose deck 9.

The casino isn't bad except for the band stand. On the Destiny it was Starboard of the Casino Bar, about where rooms 6271 and 6273 are. Two or Three cabins away from those should be ok. I believe your 6199 and 6201 will be close, but not in the blast zone. I haven't sailed the Sunshine revision yet so this may have changed. On most ships I would take a chance on 6199 and 6201 except on the Conquest, where all of the music locations were too load for the nearby cabins.

My husband and I were on the Sunshine in sept. We had 6303 balcony room. We were directly above the Ocean Plaza area right outside of the casino and every night they had music that was very loud from our room. It can be rather disturbing. Not sure how far that music is heard on the floor above but that was my experience.

Thank you everyone for your recommendations. I switched our rooms to deck 9 for now. Keep checking back to see if anything else better comes up. This was a all of a sudden family vacation. Normally I research a lot about rooms before I even book.

Thanks fingers crossed. Now off to research ports :D so excited I haven't been on a cruise in 2 almost 3yrs this should be a crime haha

Can you post how those adjoining rooms on deck 9 were? We have these rooms booked for next February. (for kids) and I am interested if there is any noise or any other positives or negatives you had with this location.

Thanks!!

Serene, Which ext aft would you pick on deck 7. Are the rooms all the same size? On the Breeze ext afts are smaller near the wraps. if I don't pick an ext aft, which other Deck 7 balconies would you recommend? Thanks for your help.

we booked a cruise on the Sunshine last month. I read reviews. Some good. Some Bad. So I did some research.

I posted several questions on this board and received excellent information.

On the Sunshine.........the NEW Cabins are on Deck 5 and Deck 3. Outside of some spa balconies and suites..they are the only ones with minibars. Which I use for Diet soda and love having it chilled for meds and such.

It seemed to me that there was a connection in enjoying the cruise and the cabins people were booked into.............the NEW cabins.........people Raved about. The bigger shower. The full 220 sq ft in the 4J's on the Lobby Deck. (3).

There are..or were ..two inside cabins on Lobby Deck 3, which are 4J. They are oceanviews with an obstructed view. They open onto the Promenade but it is at the Upper end and reviews said people seldom out there. The cabins did not connect.

BUT I would research those cabins. The 4j's. or read the cabin reviews on Cruise Critic. Everyone who wrote a review RAVED about those cabins.

And thanks to the good folks on this board and the information they shared..WE HAVE ONE TOO! WOO HOO.

And the Price...........wonderful.

Under deck 9 forward is the bridge. The OVs there are also new cabins. Very quiet location.

I stayed in 6203 on the Sunshine in February. I liked the floor plan in the room. You could hear some noise from the casino, very faintly. If they made an announcement over the microphone, you could hear them as plain as day, but that wasn't very often.

Ok. I was assuming they are the same. How are they different?

adjoining rooms are next to each other.

Connecting rooms have a door between so you can go from one room to another without going outside

Never realized there are two differences. Of course this is the first time we have booked with kids. We have a Connecting room then.
