turnip eater Posted January 28, 2015 #26 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Amazing work. Kudos to all involved - an environmental disaster avoided, and a hazard to ships secured - no fatalities! Job well done! Thank you to all those involved, especially the unsung heroes on tug boats. -Salacia I agree...:):)
balf Posted January 28, 2015 #27 Share Posted January 28, 2015 We passed it on 3 Jan sailing out of Southampton and it looked like a big disaster. Wonder what they do with the cars? David.
balf Posted January 28, 2015 #28 Share Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) According to a report in today's Times many of the cars were indeed driven off the ship and were in good condition. Whether they will be saleably is another question. http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/public/share/uuid/43435b0a-a63c-11e4-b76e-1217607ab4eb David Jus tried the link and it doesn't seem to work. cunardaddict Posted January 28, 2015 #29 Share Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) Wonder what they do with the cars? They will be scrapped. This is a common practice as manufacturers do not want to see their cars on the market after having been involved in accidents of any kind. Well, I would be happy to accept the Rolls (I read there was one on the manifest). I don't need to drive it, I could just park it my garden and enjoy it as a work of art. :)
