from bush- is it worth taking a taxi to galveston and staying in a hotel there for the night and then taking a hotel shuttle to port in the morning or paying for transfers from airport the next morning with carnival- -transfers will cost me $180 for a family of 4- my parents are comming making us six- are there bigger taxi's?

Try looking into Super Shuttle. We used them going to Hobby. I would personally stay in Houston because I don't like the hotel options. I usually only stay at Starwood properties, but I avoid Four Points by Sheraton branded hotels.
