Can anyone tell me if this stateroom is loud or if they overhang on the verandah is annoying? I've got it booked right now for a future cruise but am second guessing the location (as it seems to be under the pool!). Thanks!

Hello... and welcome to Cruise Critic. You appear to be new since you have 1 post (this one) and joined in Jan 2015. Are you also new to cruising?

This website is wonderful and has lots to offer novice and expert cruisers alike with all the different threads/forums and collections of useful reference information. Once you spend more time here you will get the hang of it, where it is located, and how to search through it all.

First, you should be aware that there are some wonderful general purpose "stickys" at the top of the Celebrity cruise forum for cruise ship staterooms. One thread for S-Class ships and one thread for M-Class ships. A quick search of the M-Class thread does not give me an exact match to your stateroom on the Summit. However, when I do a search of only Deck 9 staterooms that are in close proximity to your room, there are a few entries for the sister ships of the Summit. Since the floor plans construction of the ship are the same, you can draw similarities in how your room on the Summit will be relative to these rooms close in proximity, but on other ships.

Here are a few examples of rooms reviewed by other passengers that are located a few doors down the hallway (either way) from the room you are thinking of booking:

While a couple have comments on minor amounts of noise, you have to decide if that is something that you would be bothered by. Most probably aren't bothered by it.

I was recently on the Constellation in an A2 room that was just a bit aft of the center elevators on the Starboard side. This would be under the Oceanview and I found it to be very quiet. I would imagine the Port side (aft of center elevator) would be the same.

Enjoy your cruise.

Hi,

I second vulcan1971's nicely worded welcome. This is a wonderful forum and a great tool. Enjoy!

As for the staterooms on Deck 9 and your mid-ship room, we would thoroughly enjoy that location and always try to book Deck 9 staterooms on M-class ships.

Noise is a relative and subjective item of discussion — what is unacceptable for one may go completely unnoticed by another. Only you can know what type of noise would render a stateroom unworkable for you.

The location in question is under the pool area. The most likely noise here will be the sliding of deck chairs on Deck 10. This can start quite early in the morning, sometimes even before 8:00am. Decibel level is not likely to be high, but see the previous paragraph. ;)

As for the overhang on Deck 9 — folk seem to have a love/hate relationship with it. We love it! For us it adds to the sense of privacy on the veranda and provides a nice place for outdoor respite. It is deep. It completely shades your veranda. If you are a 'sun-worshipper' you'll need to go elsewhere to lounge in the sun. But if a rain shower or thunderstorm blows over, your Deck 9 veranda is still useable while most others are not.

And, of course, in an Aqua Class stateroom you have all those wonderful perks offered in that category, especially the delightful cuisine and service of dining in Blu.

Enjoy your sailing!!!
