CruizinMama1026 Posted January 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2015 My husband and I are thinking of trying out the Chef's Table for the first time on our upcoming Victory cruise. We are trying to do something different each cruise. Has anyone done it on the Victory cruise? Is it on elegant night? How much does it cost and what is included in the cost? Kobayashi Posted January 31, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2015 I haven't been on the Victory but this is my full review of the Chef's Table which is the same price and menu. Enjoy! http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2130964
onegroundcafe Posted January 31, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2015 We just did the Chef's Table on the Conquest last week, 01/21/2015. The cost is 75.00 per person. You meet at a pre-arranged meeting place at 6:30. The chef greets you and staff hands you glasses of champagne. You and your group proceed to the appetizer section of the kitchen area during dinner service. There you will start with the mango sphere, the salmon tartar cornets, the beef carpaccio, and the double cooked lamb. You will then move onto a different section, the dessert section of the kitchen and someone from your group will make warm chocolate melting cake while the chef gives the recipe, all the while champagne is being refilled. After that you will proceed to your dining area for the evening and you will start with white wine and bleu cheese stuffed bread, beet blanket, crab stack. During our dinner a magician came in and did some tricks and then the red wine began...then we got the duck textures, bisque our way, sea bass, and the wagyu. Then a photographer came in and took group pictures and then it was dessert time. Along the way you could ask questions. You were allowed to stay as long as you wanted. The night before chef's table the chef comes to the main dining room and introduces himself/herself and asks about dietary restrictions. It was an amazing meal, eat a light lunch. It typically is not held on elegant night.
ralindo14 Posted February 4, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2015 We have done the Chefs Table on the Fantasy and the Freedom. I would highly recommend it. Well worth the $75/per person. Just be prepared to eat a LOT of food. The second time we did it we skipped lunch to save room for all the good food. Just make sure to get it early, either do it as soon as you walk on the ship or email someone weeks or months before your cruise
saint_em Posted February 8, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2015 We're keen on trying this - what night would it be on a 4-night Victory cruise, and should we try to reserve it now (we cruise in 2 weeks)?
CalaDragonflyLady Posted February 9, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2015 We're keen on trying this - what night would it be on a 4-night Victory cruise, and should we try to reserve it now (we cruise in 2 weeks)? They don't tell you what night it is until you're on the ship, but they don't book it on elegant night. I would definitely reserve it now :)
