KayKayKay Posted February 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2015 I've read that you can find sea glass on Playa Capitillo? Is this true? If so, is it safe? I've read it might be a bit sketchy and I don't want to endanger my 73 year old mom or 6 year old twins. Thanks for your input!
trekrider520 Posted February 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) Hi Kay: There's another thread on the forum with members discussing this. Here's my 2 cents - I live in San Juan (wife is active duty military) and my friends from PR have told me to be very careful down at that beach. It's quite isolated, and if you do decide to go, going with a group would be best. I've been there myself, but just to check it out - I've never spent any appreciable time there. The PR day trips website has a good write up on this beach, along with appropriate safety suggestions. San Juan is just like any other city in the world - take proper precautions, use common sense and you'll be fine. KayKayKay Posted March 30, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted March 30, 2015 Yep, went about a week ago and we encountered a man with a club that did not look friendly. He continued to follow us as we quickly retreated. He didn't try to catch us or hurt us but it seemed clear to us that we were to get off of the beach. Later, I talked to a police officer and she said many people on that beach were on drugs and we shouldn't go down there.
