kgoodman16 Posted February 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Hi. We stop in Mazatlan on our cruise next month. Has anyone done any sportfishing either through your cruise or through a private charter? Love to hear some thoughts. Thanks
chrisaf Posted February 18, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2015 We have not done it in Mazatlán, but have done it in Cabo. It was an amazing experience and my husband caught a 125 lb. marlin and we caught lots of other fish during the day. The only caution I would offer is if it is not a ship sponsored excursion - something went out on out boat motor during the afternoon and they had to radio and have another one of their boats come out and tow us back to port. We didn't have to be back by a specific time as we were staying in Cabo so it was not a problem, but if we did, it would have been a problem as we were out for several hours longer than we were supposed to be. Have fun it you do it - its a great experience!
swedish weave Posted February 18, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2015 When you exit the terminal building at Mazatlan, there is usually an older gentleman there selling fishing trips. He can let you know what they are catching and can book you if you want. The fishing boat docks are not far from the cruise terminal.
