How many formal nights?

I have cruised twice but both were five day. How many formal nights are on a seven day cruise?

There are 2 formal nights. Usually day 2 and day 5.

2 formal nights. Ours have always been on our sea days. I'm not sure how they do it on a cruise with more ports.

It is usually the first sea day on a 7 day with 4 port stops. So say the Western route that has sea day, 4 ports and sea day. If you have an early/short port day (like day 5 say Costa Maya), then that is usually the 2nd formal night. I have never had 2nd formal night be last full day on the cruise - I think that's because it would be too tough for many cruisers having to pack and place luggage outside before bed.
