cinogirl Posted February 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2015 We are on Pacific Pearl next week, with stops at Eden, Portland and Kangaroo Island. I've been to Eden many times and have done most of the places the shore tours take you to, so was thinking of hiring a car, or just wandering around where the tender boat drops you. But is there anywhere around there to go? Also, any tips on what to do in Portland and KI? Any help appreciated. :)
sagittarius Posted March 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Just back from same itinerary on Pearl, had great weather and lovely time. Portland is a walk off which is great and there are places to go/see around the area altho if you want to go on the tram you will need to pre-book your tickets once you get off, as it gets very busy. Didn't do any ships tours so not sure on quality of them and they can be pricey. When we were there they put on markets and entertainment which was pleasant and everyone was so friendly. With KI its a tender port to Penneshaw which is very small town and if you want to see a bit more then either pre-book a hire car or private tour, or get off as soon as you can to get on private tour, or else go on ships tour. We were happy to walk around the area and there was a beach that looked great for swimming and water was warm apparently. Hope you have as wonderful weather as we did with warm sunny days in port and flat seas there and back.
