What is teenage section of Castaway Cay like? We are going on a cruise in a few weeks.

What is it you would like to know specifically?

Activities available, shade, swimming, supervision, reviews?

If you could elaborate on your question a bit more it would most likely help someone answer it with information that you want to know that isn't available from reviews online.

Supervision, reviews, activities, etc.? My daughter is very people smart so any issues with sending her over there?

No issues with her going there, as per the ship.

Supervision will be the same as on the ship. A couple of YAC's to monitor them, stop any rowdy behavior. Obviously they are free to come and go as they please, so supervision ends once they leave the area on their own. If they go off to do an activity elsewhere with the YAC's then they will have that supervision still.

As your daughter is people smart I'm sure she would remove herself from any environment she feels uncomfortable in, or speak to a CM though.

The teens have exclusive port excursions they can participate in besides just hanging out with ping pong, foose ball, etc.

Here's the Wild Side 4 hour snorkeling, biking and a high-speed boat ride: $49

The teen beach looks almost exactly like the family beach--sand, hammocks, chairs, trees, etc. It does have a couple volleyball nets set up. And it has a couple of YAC hanging out on the beach. They really don't "do" anything as long as there are no issues with behavior, etc. It basically gives the teens a place to hang out without their 8 year old sibling bothering them. As noted, all teens have the ability to come and go as they choose (no sign in/out or anything). One foot off the teen beach and the YAC are not supervising in any way--no different than on the ship. One step out of the Vibe and no supervision. That's where parents establish guidelines, set up meeting times/places, etc.

My daughter did the Wild Side excursion back when it was kayaking instead of speed boat ride. She waited till after boarding before booking it the second time to see how the group gelled, who was going, etc. The group decided to go to lunch together after the excursion (at Cookies), and the YAC made a big point of telling the parents that the supervision ended at the end of the excursion--the teens were obviously welcome to go to lunch as a group but it was not official and there would be no supervision.
