KayKay60 Posted March 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2015 We are sailing in May on the Paradise and have booked a JS V4. I have seen it mentioned that the balcony is very narrow. Does it have chairs to sit in or is it only big enough to stand on?
Jenhem31 Posted March 2, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2015 There are 2 chairs and a tiny table. Very narrow, and everyone 2 decks below can look right up at your balcony. They are not private whatsoever.
k2excursion Posted March 2, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2015 It's actually just 1 deck below that has a public walkway that extends out further than the balcony, so it's even less privacy than the previous poster alluded to. The balcony is only 30 sq.ft. compared to the standard 35. From reports, that 5 ft makes a big difference. People say that you cannot really have 2 people sit out there, since you have to sit sideways. Also, V4 is only 1 room down from the front. There is a public stairway in front of V2's balcony which leads up to the public observation deck (aka, secret deck). It's the only one of these on the ship that is for guests, so it does get a bit of use at times (sailaways). V2 will be frustrated with that stairway right outside their balcony. You are in a better spot, but that stairway is still just to your right.
