Getaway Aft Balcony

I see these are for 2-3 people.

Can 4 people (2 adults 2 kids) really not fit?

If it states it's only for 2-3 people only 2-3 people can stay in that cabin.

I'm going to guess that the room has a bed (King, Queen, or two singles)

and a single couch or single bunk bed or single murphy bed.

Therefore, there would be sleeping arraignments for only 2-3 people.

You don't say which ship you're talking about or what category.

Another reason is this: Cabins are grouped together for which lifeboat and station they are assigned. If you were to add a 4th person to that cabin there would not be room in the lifeboat for that person as the lifeboat would be 1 over capacity.

Call ncl

Why? It clearly states it will hold 2-3 people. What's calling NCL going to do?

Are they going to add another bed into the cabin?

Are they going to build a larger lifeboat to hold one more?

That's like asking you to fit 3 people in a Ferrari that only seats 2.

Where's the other person going to sit?

Its ok :)

I understand... disappointed, but understand.

My husband really really wants to do an aft and I was amazed that no matter what or when the cruise was... they were always all gone.

Then I changed our occupancy to 3 and ta-da.. they magically appeared.

Thank you for the response, I do appreciate it.

There is no "hidden bed" in the ceiling/wall for the 4th person. Thr 3rd person gets the couch (which was just as comfy as thr beds IMHO)... you could always check out the aft suites... not sure if they are in your price range, but they looked amazing.

In the same situation - we always book afts. Period. But bringing our son & GF next time also on the Getaway and 3/4 passenger free was just too good a deal to pass up in favor of the aft. Suites were 3 times as much and even putting them in an inside would have nearly doubled the cost so we booked one of the side "Large Balconies" instead. But will definitely miss the aft.

I've been wondering that same question about having 4 people in an aft penthouse (obviously more room than an inside cabin) because we have 2 little ones, ages 2 and 4, that would be able to sleep in a twin sized bed together without a problem. But now that I read about the lifeboat situation, that makes perfect sense. That never even crossed my mind.

Thanks for the great info on these boards.
