Rhapsody Cabin 8532 or 8040 (next to Explorers Club) which one to choose?

Recommended Posts

Just finished paying for Cabin 8532 on Royal Caribbean Rhapsody out of Galveston Jan 15 (Yay!). Looking at what other cabins might be available, in case I want to switch, I see that Cabin 8040 is available. It "looks" bigger on the deck plan, has no other cabins across from it, but it is next to the Explorer Club (on deck 8), near what seems to be the opening for the upper part of the atrium (just guessing, this is our first cruise, never been on a ship before), and is sort of near, but not right next to, the elevators. I don't know what is above it, haven't looked that far yet.

I am wondering if this would be a good switch or if I should just stick with what I have? Or if this would be a horrible switch and I should absolutely stick with what I have? What is the Explorer Club? Would this location be noisy?

Thanks for your advice -- I just tried calling the Royal Caribbean "Guest Vacation Specialist" to ask this same question and I have typed this message while he put me on hold, so I just gave up and hung up.

Thanks for the reply. "Exact location you are currently in" meaning 8532 or 8040? I went ahead and switched to 8040, the boards were so slow, the rep had me on hold so long... So, I just went ahead and switched. I'm sure we'll be happy either way. Glad you enjoyed it though, whichever one you meant. :)

Mysticul, It's so nice to hear from someone who will be on our cruise! I have seen any Meet and Mingle info yet for our cruise, have you? I might be looking in the wrong places, so if you know where it is, let me know and I'll sign up.

Thanks!

Notfromaroundhere and Mysticul,

There will be 8 of us with you two on the same trip! Four of us have cabin 8088 (aft cabin) and the other 4 are one floor below in 7154 (aft cabin also). We can't wait either! For 6 of us, it's our 1st cruise...woohoo!

It's our first cruise and our 29th Wedding Anniversary! (Been "planning" to take a cruise for each "major" anniversary. Never seems to happen. Rather than wait til 30 and have something else come up and miss it again, we decided to go for the 29th and if we're lucky maybe we'll make it for the 30th as well!

I saw your post Karshrimp about 8088 and I thought about it, and looked to see if it was available, but actually, I've switched twice already and I think we'll be happy where we are, so we'll stick with what we've got. Thanks so much for putting that out there, though, that was very thoughtful of you.
