kristapb Posted April 2, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2015 We were just on the Equinox, and when we got a list of "classic" beverages from the customer service desk, the wines are not listed. I was told it is because it varies by ship/cruise, but they had a decent selection of California, Spain, and South American wines (if you are ok with the everyday $10 bottle you might pick up at a supermarket). I don't drink whites much, but they had a fairly decent Pinot Grigio. I liked the Pinot Noir and the Tempranillo (SP?). The Cab wasn't so hot. Didn't try the merlot. If you go for fine wines, you probably will not be happy, but we were fine with it.
LuckiePuris Posted April 3, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) Hi there, just back from Solstice and wanted to come back and post some info based on our experience. We had the premium package which was for us very well worth the upgrade. We are not huge drinkers but on holidays we do like to have a nice cocktail or wine before or after dinner, try new drinks, have a cappuccino or a sparkling water. To answer your queries regarding the Classic package, you could purchase some wines at cellar masters by the glass but a very small selection. For example for white, you would choose from a Sauvignon Blanc or a Chardonnay. Same as with dining room, small selection to pick from for the Classic beverage allowance but normally one of most varietals was included. For the molecular bar, as all cocktails are priced $15.50US there were none included in the classic package. To be honest, the cost of the upgrade is normally approx $12US per day. If you can afford it I definitely would go for it as it really makes a difference. It is a lot of easier to order a cocktail, beer or wine as most are included in the premium package. At cellar masters, it is a wine bar so as you can imagine, specialising in wines they do also have some very highly priced. However at cellar masters, we had quite a large variety of wines that we could select from that was included in our package, same at the dining rooms. The great thing about the premium package as well is that if you do decide to treat yourself to a wine that is a little more in cost, you only pay the cost difference between the beverage allowance and the cost of the glass. Whereas with the classic package, you would need to pay the full cost. Hope this helps a bit! Keep an eye out for a review on Celebrity forum hopefully later this week!
