mrstriceasnice Posted April 7, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2015 Can you find taxis lined up here? There is a free shuttle located there that will take you to the old port where you can get public transit. http://www.marvellous-provence.com/travel/water/marseille-cruise-ship-port#shuttle
Melozone Posted April 7, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2015 Can you find taxis lined up here? Oh sorry! I thought you needed it for mapping on a GPS. I don't have the taxi info but I can look for you. I'm guessing there will be taxis right at the port.

No, thanks Melozone, the info you provided helped a lot with finding the distance to the HRC, the bit about taxis was a further question.:)
pagnegirl Posted May 13, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 13, 2015 Is it possible to take a shuttle for a couple euros into town from the port and walk around and if you decided to hop on a bus and go to the Notre Dame Church? Is it far from town? Also anyone ever been to Cassis, that is our other option. Thanks
hermioneb Posted May 14, 2015 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2015 Last year we took the shuttle bus to the old port. There was a hop on hop off bus stop there, which took us up to the Notre Dame church amongst other places. We stayed in Cassis about forty years ago; I don't remember there being a huge amount to see there, but it was a very long time ago! hermioneb Posted May 14, 2015 #10 Share Posted May 14, 2015 I meant to add that you might find Tom's Port Guide to Marseille useful. It can be downloaded here http://www.tomsportguides.com/Marseille-06-28-2013.pdf . In my own view there is enought to do in Marseille to spend a happy day there. Next time we are there, we are thinking of taking a boat to see Chateau d'If.

I can't find any reference to it on the Marseille Port's own website, where they just mention the number 35 bus.
