luv2cruise0618 Posted May 24, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2004 I will be cruising on the Empress of the Seas from May 29-June 6th. Given the recent delays in disembarkation, what is a good time to arrange pick-up via towncar at Cape Liberty. Currently we have requested 10:30am. Is this going to be problematic? It is $40 per additional hour. I appreciate any help you can provide.
CruisFran Posted May 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Have no current news, as we sail the same date as you! Would suggest, if possible, connect to the service by cell-phone. We did this last year, and it worked well...we walked out of the terminal, and our van arrived at approx. same time...perfect timing! Otherwise it would be a guessing game. Hope to see you at the M&M!! Fran & Ed
cathykb Posted May 27, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2004 Was on 5/15 sailing. Although the ship was in the port ontime, we did not begin disembarkation until 10:30 - 10:45. The story was that this was customs not clearing the ship because non-US citizens not coming forward to customs when we docked? I agree with the previous poster, I think the disembarkation will be unpredictable for some time. If you can be flexible at all, that would be best. luv2cruise0618 Posted May 27, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted May 27, 2004 I changed the pick-up time to 11:30am to allow greater flexibility. Thanks.
