cassandra44 Posted May 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2015 I just found out that because we paid for an air deviation on Viking Air before the cruise to allow us to spend several days in England (then fly to Stockholm) Viking does not accept any responsibility for transfers from Stockholm airport to the ship. This is a bummer since we are scheduled to arrive around 5 p.m. on Day 1 of the cruise when the Star is in Stockholm. By the time we get our luggage and taxi to the dock almost all the first day will be gone :(
id4elizabeth Posted May 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Yep. That's the way it usually is on Viking Rivers too, at least in our experience. That's why we haven't done our air with Viking for all 4 of our Viking cruises to date.
cassandra44 Posted May 11, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted May 11, 2015 We haven't had this before.. first time for us! Not sure where that was mentioned in the fine print...Actually we booked the deviation long after we did the initial booking and our agent did not mention that it would affect our transfer. When we picked up our travel documents just recently (long after the deviation was in place) we saw that a transfer was still mentioned in our documents... so I am really puzzled. It was only after I asked out TA to verify that the transfer is still scheduled that we got the response that Viking won't transfer us. Seems another case of right hand not knowing what the left is doing.,
cassandra44 Posted May 11, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted May 11, 2015 I am not sure whether our TA actually checked with Viking or just made an assumption. In either event not satisfactory.
cassandra44 Posted May 12, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted May 12, 2015 Just heard that since our deviation is just a stopover we still have the transfer so all ok!!! Good news!
