On My Own>?

I was 15 years old on my first cruise and went to Grand Cayman. I am now 37 and going back next year. Question is, how easy is it to do your own thing and go to the beach w/o doing an excursion? Does anyone have any recommendations?

Easy as taking a short walk or public transportation. We have walked to Eden Rock and snorkeled and have taken public transportation to Cemetary Beach at the far end of 7 Mile. Taxis and PT vans are everywhere.

It is very easy to do your own thing. Once off the ship, you can get a bus or taxi in town that will be passing by the beaches where you can get off and proceed to have a great time and when you are reading to head back, you can just go to the side of the road and a passing bus will pick you up and take you back to port.
