The only negative to these cabins would be that the dining room is situated directly underneath, which could lead to noise. I would possibly try to get cabins that have cabins on the decks above and below to reduce noise. We always try to stay on Deck 7.

If that is the only drawback then I think it will be fine as any noise from the dining room should not go past 10:00 pm or so, right?

I would think not too much, it just depends if they are preparing for the next day. The sunshine often has Sea Day Brunch, where you can go and eat breakfast in the dining room. I would expect that there may be noise in the mornings, as they are preparing for the day. A few years ago we stayed above the promenade on the Oasis of the Seas and could not sleep- it was awful. However, the dining room will probably not be as bad. Staying above or below any public area could result in noise, you just never know. The cabins on the sunshine look nice, we are going in July and staying on Deck 7 midship. Happy sailing!

Read this about the stateroom: "Note: Twin Beds do not convert to king configuration when both upper berths in use." Of course, would like to sleep with my wife on converted King, while at the same time having 2 spots for the kids to sleep. Can anyone tell me why the beds cannot be put together while the kids are in upper berths?

Of course, would like to sleep with my wife on converted King, while at the same time having 2 spots for the kids to sleep. Can anyone tell me why the beds cannot be put together while the kids are in upper berths? The reason they say the beds cannot be put together is because when the two upper berths are up, the kids cannot get out of their bunks if the kind bed is underneath. This is because the upper berths are directly on top of the lower bed, so it's easier when the beds are separated to two twins (then it kinda forms a bunk bed on both sides). In order to avoid this, you have to stay in a balcony and I believe some ocean views have a sofa. Then, the king bed is near the window/balcony, and there is a sofa that converts to a bed across from the desk, and then the upper above the sofa. This would allow you to keep your king and still have the 2 kids stay in your room. I always Google for YouTube videos of the rooms, and some of them can give you a visual of what the interior with bunks looks like.
Tutontow Posted June 6, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 6, 2015 We had an interior on deck 7. It did not have a couch, just one chair. We like room service early in the morning and sometimes late at night. Consequently somebody had to sit on the bed to eat our room service food. This might not matter to you and you might have a couch in your room. For us we really missed having a place where the both of us could sit down without sitting on the bed.
picantel Posted June 7, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Stayed in 5335 last year interior and the room was really large with a very large counter and fridge. It was so big we did not even use half of the room. Just got off the sunshine today in room 1444 and it was the size of a tin can with about 3 feet of very narrow counter space, a bathroom I could barely fit in, and 2 beds that I swear were half the size of a twin bed. Last year I got sick after the cruise and was ill with respiratory problems for 3 months. With 2 days left in this cruise I have fallen ill again. I believe this is because the casino area was packed and is the smokiest casino I have ever seen in my 13 cruises. I could not even go on that side of the deck in the last 2 days because I could not breath. Disgusting.
Rare momin05 Posted June 7, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Picantel, Was 5335 larger than the other oceanview cabins on that hall?
Rare momin05 Posted June 7, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Picantel, and did you hear any noise from the stairwell that adjoins the room?
Rare momin05 Posted June 7, 2015 #11 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Picantel, sorry for the multiple posts but I just noticed you said you stayed in 5335 interior, but 5335 is an oceanview room. Can you check the cabin number and clarify?
picantel Posted June 7, 2015 #12 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Sorry my mistake. Was 5355. A really great room.
Rare momin05 Posted June 7, 2015 #13 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Thanks, Picantel. I have seen some pics recently of those sideways cabins and somehow having the door in the middle makes them seem more spacious, even though I think they are the same size. Glad you enjoyed it.
