Eleven of us had a fantastic time onboard the Fantasy! This cruise was a high school graduation celebration for my son and three of his buddies along with one of the graduate's family.

MY review of the ship and port will be very brief. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

CABIN- cabin wasnt the cleanest Ive seen. I always pack clorox wipes to wipe down the drawers before putting in clothes. Headboard dusty.

sheets dirty. I didnt notice nasty sheets until about to get in bed.

Called guest services to complain. they never sent anyone to change them so I told our room attendant the next day. He changed the bedding but the sheets still appeared dingy.

Ship is showing its age especially around the window and bathroom sink and grout around the shower panel.

Beds still very comfy though.

FOOD- Dining room dinner and breakfast both good. Used room service twice and it was good. Buffet fair. Pizza ok, dont care for the new style pizzas.

ENTERTAINMENT- Missed the Motown and Hasboro show. Motor City is a must see. Always enjoy Thriller dance class. Comedy show was funny. Both comedians gave us a sample at the Welcome Aboard show. Bring a sweater or jacket, theater and casino very cold. Lido deck contest were funny. DJ was ok. Watched the basketball games at the Bistro and Majestic Bar.

FREEPORT- We cought a cab to Taino Beach for $14 round trip. Price includes beach lounger but all were taken by the time we got there. The beach was further out than we thought, about a 30 min ride. Beach is very pretty. There are huts for rent, kayaks, jet skis, etc. Beach bar sells food and drinks and plays loud music for dancing. Lots of beach games to be played, such as tug of war, volleyball and dance contests. Fun place.

NASSAU- We purchased Carnival's Atlantis Waterpark promo excursion? lunch. Do take the 8:30 shuttle to Atlantis because it will allow you more time in the waterpark. We didnt go until 10-10:30 and took the 3pm shuttle back to ship. Beautiful park! Spent a short time on the beach behind Atlantis also.

EMBARKATION- A bit of a hassle since we were dropped off but once in the tent, it was a breeze.

DEBARKATION- Hassle- free.

Overall a wonderful cruise. Everyone had a ball. It was a first cruise for most of the group. They are ready to go on another cruise very soon!

Thanks for posting this. We board tomorrow for a 7 day sailing. I am disappointed to see that the cabin wasn't very clean, but it is good to know you still had a wonderful time. This will be our first cruise on Carnival in 9 years and we are looking forward to having a nice cruise option locally.

I'm sure you will have a great time. It may have been our room attendant that was slacking off with the cleaning.

My daughter and I also board tomorrow so thanks for the info. I have never sailed out of Charleston and have heard parking can be a little tricky. Anyone who can offer any pointers, it would be greatly appreciated. I am use to sailing out of Florida Ports but my daughter lives in Myrtle Beach so we are going out of Charleston.

We are on the July 20 sailing. The reviews have been all over the place from the worst cruise EVER to the most PERFECT in the history of cruising! I use Olympic figure skating judging for reviews....throw out the worst and the best and average the reviews that are left!

If any of y'all are doing Anytime Dining and have a really good wait staff would you mind coming back here to mention their names. I'd love to ask right a way for a good team's section. Thanks in advance.

You are welcome. Although we didnt park, we were dropped off, I'd suggest you arrive at port as early as possible. It took us 25 minutes from our house to port but almost an hour from the beginning of the lot to the drop off point. Pine cones and port-o-lets everywhere. I'd get there NLT 10 am., especially with the horrible tradgedy that happened at one of our churches downtown. Lots of media and road closures.
