Mandarin Oriental is WONDERFUL, one of the very best hotels in Miami! It's 5-10 minutes from the Port of Miami, and would be an EXCELLENT choice if you're willing to pay the price of admission ;)

I hope I don't sound too ignorant, but I live in Iowa and we don't take cabs very often. Can someone please tell me if the cab fares that are being quoted are for the cab or per person? If it's per cab, how many people will they allow in a cab? We have 5 adults and 3 kids, hoping to stay in Miami pre- and post-cruise and hopefully not be renting a car.:o

Cab fare is for the entire cab... Generally no more than 4 passengers per cab.

 

Depending on where you're staying you may want to consider renting a van, in many cases it's cheaper, and a whole lot more convenient.
