Cost of Alcohol

Hello,

 

As a soon to be first time cruiser, I was just wondering what drinks typically cost on board a cruise ship. Beer, mixed drinks, whatever. Does it vary a lot by cruise lines? I'll be on a Princess cruise.

Not sure about Princess, but on Carnival the prices aren't really that bad.

1- Frozen Exotic Drink- $5.69

2- Amaretto Sour- $5.18

3- Shot of Cuervo Gold- $4.50

4- Martini- $6.33

5- Two Imported Beers--$8.63

6- Bombay Sappire--$5.69

 

I just dug up some of my bills. Hope this helps

You might ask this question on the Princess Board, since it looks like that is the cruiseline you are going on.

 

I've always felt the prices onboard ships to be on par, or even a bit less, than restaurants where we live. Typically mixed drinks are around $6, martinis $10, beer, I have no idea, I never drink the stuff. Wine is probably the most highly marked up item, for what we can buy here for $10 at the store, $20 in a restaurant, it will probably be $30 onboard a ship.

This has nothing to do with the main question but have you ever gone to Nassau before...I am on the Fantasy and wanted to know if that ship is basically the same as the ones you have been on?

You can usually order a bottle of your favorite liquor, together with 4 cans of soda, for a price comparable to onland liquor store.

 

Having a supply in cabin, for pre-cocktail cocktails, veranda cocktails, nightcaps, etc. Can help to hold down your bar tab for mixed drink service.
