JW Marriott vs Marriot Biscayne Bay (MIAMI)

Hi - need your lodging expertise for Miami precruise stay.

 

I am new Marriott Rewards member and I'm trying to decide which hotel to use for my pre-cruise stay on 10/1. Its just one night and I of course want to be close to the port but would also like to maybe visit the spa and be near some good restaurants.

 

I stayed at Eden Roc on the beach last time and while I enjoyed it, I don't want to be that far from the port again. Thanks

The JW is by far a better hotel!

We stayed at the JW in February and it is a beautiful hotel, great service; a definite high recommend. It is in more of a business district area than the Bayside. We ate at the hotel restaurants and thought it was great.

It's in a safe location, just a few minutes to the port, and there's a Morton's ( http://www.mortons.com/ ), and Gordon Biersch ( http://www.gordonbiersch.com/ ) across the street.

I'm booked at the JW pre flight to San Juan in January :)

 

If you have AAA you'll get a better rate. We booked about 6 months ago and we're in for $129 - not too bad for the JW ;)

JW!!! My AAA rate was $169.

 

The only thing that is a bummer is that they no longer have a shuttle to the pier. I was told to make arrangements with the conceirge when I arrive.
