Successful snorkel places on beach?

We will have our 2.5 and 4.5 year olds with us. Although I would love to do the turtle snorkel with them, I think they would be a bit fearful of the open water, no shore close by.

The 4.5 can swim on her own, no floaties etc. The 2.5 uses floaties but bounces up and down under water fine etc.

I am wondering if there is any beach that I can give them the opportunity to snorkel and see fish by walking/swimming in a shallow part or not too far off the coast.

We will be in Barbados in November if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Most of the beaches along the west side should fit what you're looking for. Calm waters, sandy beach access - perfect for little ones. Carlisle Bay, Paynes, Mullins, etc.

Further south (south of Rockley Beach) is Worthing Beach, which has some shallow, sandbar areas at the south end towards St. Lawrence Bay. You can sometimes see turtles here also...

Cheers, P:)
