Someone just posted a thread about how they wish more cruises would leave out of San Francisco, and I have to agree, I'd love it. I was born, raised, and educated in Manhattan but, live in CA now. My husband and I return to NY often to visit my family and, we're all addicted to cruising. None of us are fans of NCL and would love to see Princess or Celebrity or even Carnival give NCL a run for their money and offer year round cruises instead of just seasonal. Obliviously, it's worth the effort since NCL is moving a second ship to NYC for year round cruising.

So, let's hear from you. Would anyone else like to see other cruise lines in NYC/NJ for year round cruising? If so, please vote and maybe some of the "powers that be" will know that we'd be willing to fill their ships too, not just NCL ships!

I'll take almost any cruise line sailing from NYC or NJ. We did Voyager out of Bayonne and it was fantastic to take a cab to the pier on sailing day and to be home in one hour after disembarking. It was great not to have to fly to Florida, stay in a hotel for one night before the cruise, pack, unpack, etc. The cruise lines should definitely position more ships in the New York area.

I would rather go out of Bayonne for many reasons. One would be the ease of getting in and out of port.It doesen't cost an arm and a leg to park your car there. The port needs to be upgraded.Existing parking is on a gravel lot outdoors and somes cars have been damaged from dirt particles, spray paint etc from the docks nearby.Traffic is never a problem getitng to the port.I can drive to NYC nad Bayonne in 30 min.But i find Bayonne to be a much easier experience.
