Rare Clearwater Posted August 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2015 We are looking to book a cruise for Thanksgiving 2016. We will be ages ranging from 23 to 93. Love good casinos, best food options, easy layout, newer bells and whistles. The itineraries which work for us are either Magic or Sunshine. So with ports aside (as they are all decent) which ship is everyone's favorite. Would love some pros and cons. Thanks!
Ahmne Posted August 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2015 The Magic is going into dry dock early next year and would be the 'newer' ship when you go. I haven't been on either but these were my two choices when we were looking. It came down to price.

I have been on the Sunshine twice and would sail her again in a heartbeat. We love the casino and are pretty much there as soon as they open. If you do sail the Sunshine try to book deck 7 midship. It is a quick two floors up to the Lido and a quick two floors down to the casino, which is on deck 5 where everything is happening. I can't say enough about the staff on the Sunshine, especially the casino personnel. On the last night we shared a group hug with the host and assistant host. The steakhouse and La Cucina were excellent and the food in the MDR was pretty darned good.
LPut714 Posted August 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2015 We loved the Sunshine-had been on it when it was the Destiny. Prob one of our favorite cruises. In one of the bars they had 'Run for Cover' band absolutely awesome. And having Jamie Dee as the CD-unending ending energy. Loved Guy's burgers-so so on the Taco stand. Great cruise. We will be on the Magic in Nov so can't wait-we have done the Dream so familiar with the layout.
