FLL or MIA?

We are going to be going on RCCL Navigators of the Seas on 12/10/05. We have to fly in the day before so I'm trying to figure out airfare and hotels now... It looks like it's nearly $100 per person cheaper to fly into FLL but our ship sails out of Port of Miami. Is it actually going to wind up costing us the same amount to have to get from FLL to MIA? I haven't been into FLL before, so I'm unsure of the distance, etc.

If we do decide to do this, would you suggest staying in FLL or MIA? I don't want to spend a fortune but would like to have a nice place to stay. Thanks for your help!!!

It's a 30-45 minute drive from FLL to the Port of Miami/downtown Miami under "normal" circumstances, much longer during rush "hour" or if there's been an accident.

The cheapest way is usually to just rent a car, but if you don't want to bother with that we use the following companies, both are reliable, reputable local companies...

Tri-County/Airport Express (shared van service and private cars)... http://www.floridalimo.com/

Larry's Limo... http://larryslimo.com/

Personally I would use one of those to go from FLL to a downtown Miami hotel, then take a short, cheap cab ride from downtown Miami to the port on the morning of your cruise. (BTW- You'll LOVE the Navigator, wonderful ship! :) )
