bermudashorts Posted September 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2005 Here is a thread that has alot of information. I have been to the one in dockyard but not St Georges. A local last year said the glass in dockyard is from an old dumping ground. The waves round the edges like they are in a tumbler. Pretty cool http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=226948
jlines Posted September 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2005 In St. Georges there is a little cove to the left of Alexandra Bay Battery (as you face it) that is littered with sea glass. Just sit at the water's edge and let the waves bring it in to you. My friend who has been collecting it for years couldn't believe how much this beach had. pittfan Posted October 12, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2005 Thanks to you, my husband and I were able to find the cove and we found a huge amount of beach glass. We even found some blue pieces. Thanks for the info! ;)
generalcindy Posted October 12, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 12, 2005 I alwso wanted to let everyone know, that we found quite a bit of seaglass at Ft Catherine Beach !!!
CaribbeanBound Posted October 24, 2005 #6 Share Posted October 24, 2005 St. Catherine does indeed have sea glass, but the sheer volume pales in comparison to Alexandra Beach where you can get it by the bucketfull! We just got back. Here are detailed instructions on exactly where to find the motherlode... http://www.lavasurfer.com/info/bermuda.html (Of course, if too many folks read this...) JeanneII Posted January 26, 2006 #7 Share Posted January 26, 2006 Thanks so much for this little tidbit. We'll be visiting Bermuda in June, and Alexandra Bay will be on our agenda! My daughter (11) collects beach glass, and this would be a sweet souvenir for her. Are there any restrictions about bringing such a thing back to the US?
