snookcruiser Posted September 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Which balcony cabin, preferably midship, is great to book on Carnival Magic? Need to book soon for next year. Thanks for responses.
forwardcabin Posted September 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2015 We've been in two types of balcony cabins on Carnival Magic and have loved both. For several Magic cruises, we had the same port balcony on Lido midship and near the forward elevators--cabin 10270. On two of last consecutive Magic cruises we were in cove balcony 2260--absolutely a great location.
factotumdeb Posted September 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2015 we've done the cove several times and loved them. just make sure they are not below the galley
Rare APDMOM Posted September 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2015 After extensive research on these boards, we have chosen cove balcony 2309. It has a more open view, since there is a space between the life boats, so this one does not have lifeboats above it. We opted against a higher up balcony, since they do not have a direct downward view of the water, but rather of the lanai promenade. We prefer to see and hear the water. smyliecruising Posted September 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2015 (edited) We had the cove on the Magic and we loved it. It is so private. You feel very close to the water. One night the water got rough and would splash up onto the balcony and hit the door and window. It is easy to see the flying fish from that distance. I can't compare it to the other balcony as I haven't stayed in one. Edited September 12, 2015 by smyliecruising
forwardcabin Posted September 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Excellent location--and the balcony is 45 sq ft compared to 35 sq ft for a standard balcony. We really liked being that close to the water, and if they dock on your side of the ship, you will have a close view of the pier to watch as people get off and on. The inside of the cabin itself is not any different than standard balconies but you will be able to walk up just one deck to the lobby and the main lounge shows. Here's hoping you have a great cove and a great cruise. Bon Voyage!
StrangeBrew Posted September 12, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2015 We have had balconies on the Lido deck , while I loved the location and its proximity to the food and pools , it was quite boring at times to look down at a deck below is instead of the ocean . We prefer the cove balconies over regular ones now, you can look out see the ocean and nothing else, love the sound of the waves as well, only drawback is if you have rough seas they will lock them so you can't go out. KLD1019 Posted September 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2015 was on the magic last year on a balcony, deck 6, mid ship. LOVED it! perfect location, IMO! right smack dab in the middle of everything! quick trot up or down flights if elevators were too slow. one quick flight down to deck 5 where we spent most of our time aside from lido! Did a cove on her sister ship, Dream, last month. it was nice, quiet, peaceful. wont book one again, though. we were under the galley. and it just seemed so far away from everything. Next year, we're on both Magic and Dreams sister ship, Breeze. we booked back up on deck 6. wanted deck 7, but only connecting rooms were available and i did not want a connecting room. teacher2cruiser Posted September 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 12, 2015 So if you're on port side of Magic on seventh floor mid-aft, will you look down on ship or water?
KLD1019 Posted September 12, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 12, 2015 (edited) So if you're on port side of Magic on seventh floor mid-aft, will you look down on ship or water? port or starboard side, below you is deck 5. deck 5 goes all the way around the ship. you can see water, but its not directly below you, like it would be if you were on a cove. this is from our deck 6 balcony on the magic Edited September 12, 2015 by KLD1019
RMcoolX Posted September 13, 2015 #11 Share Posted September 13, 2015 I've done aft, cove, and 'regular' balconies. Any balcony is a good balcony! :)
Devo1459 Posted September 14, 2015 #12 Share Posted September 14, 2015 We have been on the Magic once. It was a Lido deck balcony. Great location. Yes when you look straight down you can see the deck but who looks straight down? When your sitting in your chair its 180 degree ocean view. We are back on the Magic Jan 3 16 deck 8. I'm sure this one is just as good. Enjoy
