Parking in Miami

Does anyone konw of alternative parking for the port of Miami? I know that you can save quite a few $$$ by using off site parking in Fort Lauderdale.

 

Any insight/experienced (good or bad) will be appreciated.

Are you driving to Miami? There is really no close cheap parking for the port. They charge $12 a day to park in the garage. I think its cheaper to have a taxi drop you off and pick you up. a 7 day cruise will run you $84 which is not cheap.

Drivin to miami from the orlando area so taxi is not practical. any other suggestions??

There are no cheaper lots, parking in downtown Miami is expensive. The best/safest place for your car is in the parking garages at the port. They're very easy and convenient, right across the street from the terminals.

Is the parking based on number of days or on 24 hour periods. A 7 day cruise would involve 8 days but only 7-24 hour periods. I hope this isnt too confusing but I am curious
