Changing Money on Splendor?

I have read on these boards that Splendor DOES NOT offer money exchange i.e., USD to EUROS onboard. Any recent cruisers have any experience with this. If you call RCCL 5 times, you can get 5 different answers. I don't want to depend on getting money in the Casino on my Sea Pass Card and then not able to exchange it at the Purser's desk for Euros.

In Sept. of 2004, you could NOT get Euros on board. I would bet it is still that way. I have friends cruising Splendour as I type so I can let you know for sure by Tuesday (a week from today)! ATM's ashore were very easy to find and that is what we all did. You'd get the current rate plus a fee (at the time it was cheaper to get more Euros at one place since the fee was the same no matter the $ amount).

We sailed Splendour October 23 - 30, 2004 I got Euros from the pursers desk 3 times during the cruise.

Wow! Glad you posted, Wendy. I hate misinformation on the boards! :o Glad RCI changed their policy!

We sailed in June. We were also able to get Euros at the Purser's Desk.

In May we were able to get Euros from the purser's desk at certain hours. However, the rate was not as good as what you could get at the best change bureaus ashore.

Hey 4 cruisers,

 

We just returned from Vision of the Seas Alaska which was totally awesome, but Splendour Med has been our favorite. We loved Alaska and it is too beautiful to describe, but our Med cruise on Splendour out of this world! I would do Europe again before Alaska!

Navel1ring, funny you should say that!!! We keep thinking about Alaska, but have signed up for Mediterranean again for next summer. Have you seen the Splendour's itinerary? It's Venice RT!!! I think you get a lot of bang for your buck on Splendour in the Mediterranean!

Just off Splendour and, yes, you can change currency. I did it several times throughout the vacation. Got money from ATM on board in US and changed it for Euros.
