fourdarlings Posted September 27, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2005 We are going on a cruise 11/05 with my inlaws and our 4 children (8 year old quadruplets). 2 kids will be in each room and I know there is a pull-out sofa and an "upper" in each room. It is the Carnival Glory. Can you tell me how an "upper" works? Does it pull out of the wall? Is there a bed rail? TIA Keri
stacieps Posted September 28, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2005 On the Glory the upper actually pulls out of the ceiling so it takes up no space when it isn't "open". The sofa will be below the "upper" and will have cushions that remove from the back so it can be made up into a twin bed. There was a small rail on the upper. My DD (6 at the time) did fine when we were on Glory in '03.
serene56 Posted September 28, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2005 to give you an idea on how it works-- http://community.webshots.com/photo/25602828/25602828lFsmeHArNf the bed gets put away during the day- but if your kids are young and my need a nap I would ask to keep it down. http://community.webshots.com/photo/33605372/33605372SArXSf
Cruisin' Chick Posted October 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2005 this is how the Princess one works but I think it's similar to Carnival:
